Pune: Otter Controls India, a joint venture with the UK-based Otter Controls Limited, has officially inaugurated its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune.
Representing a total investment of $4.5 million, the fourth Otter Controls India facility aims to boost production capacity by 75% while generating 1,000 new employment opportunities within the region’s industrial corridor.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Avnish Malhotra, India Lead – Future Mobility Department for Business & Trade, and Head of the British Trade Office, Pune.

The 96,000 sq ft plant reflects Otter Controls India’s continued commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative. This new facility enhances the company’s ability to strengthen local supply chains and scale operations, ensuring sustainable growth in the Indian market.
Ulhas K Joshi, Managing Director, Otter Controls India Private Limited, stated, “This new Manufacturing Facility is a true reflection of our belief in the resilience and potential of the Indian manufacturing sector. By investing in capacity and creating 1,000 new jobs here in Pune, we are not just scaling our business; we are investing in the community and building a self-reliant domestic supply chain.”
Otter Controls India: Advanced Technology and Future Mobility Focus
The facility is equipped with advanced production technologies, including an ISO 8 / Class 100,000 Clean Room Facility. This infrastructure enables Otter Controls India to expand into the EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) and SMT (Surface Mount Technology) segments, catering to both automotive and non-automotive industries.
Additionally, the plant will strengthen production of high-precision components such as Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) molded parts and specialized wire harnesses, aligning with the company’s focus on quality and innovation.
